Why Reflexology?
Picture
Reflexology aims to improve cardiovascular circulation, lymphatic drainage and elimination, relieve stress & tension and promote homeostasis in the body. Reflexology Treatments are non-invasive and allows the body to reach a parasympathetic state, a state in which the body repairs. Each treatment is unique to the individual and a session is usually 60 minutes. Reflexology is a natural and non-invasive modality which embraces the concept of holistic treatment. During a treatment, pressure on reflexes which correlate to organs and glands in the body stimulate communication in the nervous system. Over time, stress, anxiety, injury, disease and other factors cause imbalances in the body's natural ability to function optimally. By allowing the body to improve communication and reduce blockages in energy flow, the entire body can be treated using only the reflexes in the feet, hands and ears! Reflexology is a valuable modality which encourages the body to re-establish homeostasis and thus, heal itself with no adverse side effects.

*Please note: RCRT do not diagnose, prescribe or treat specific conditions.

Who can receive a Reflexology Treatment?
Reflexology is safe for everyone! Pressure and length of session may vary depending on your health history and sensitivities. Your RCRT practitioner will ensure that you are relaxed and comfortable throughout your treatment. Children and elderly are able to receive Reflexology Treatments as well!
Reflexology can benefit:
  • Stress/Anxiety
  • Digestive Issues
  • Pain
  • Mobility Issues
  • Musculoskeletal Issues
  • Sinus & Headaches
  • Plantar Fasciitis

Why choose a Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist (RCRT)?
Picture
RCRT's are trained professionals who belong to the Reflexology Association of Canada, a highly regarded and globally recognized entity. Members are held to a high Standard of Practice and professional Code of Conduct. The RAC aims to protect both the profession and the public's interest and safety. Members must complete continuing education and renew memberships annually in order to keep their RCRT status. When choosing a Reflexology Therapist, look for an RCRT certified practitioner to ensure you (and your feet!) are in the best hands.

What to expect...
A Reflexology Treatment lasts approximately 1 hour where you will be laying comfortably in a zero-gravity chair.  You will never be asked to remove clothing (other than shoes/socks). You will be asked to complete a brief Intake Form and then the session will begin, starting on the right foot. All reflexes will be stimulated on both the right and left foot, as the body is considered a whole.
Length of session and pressure will vary from individual to individual, although shorter treatments with lighter pressure are used for infants, the elderly and those who are very ill.  Reflexology is safe and non-invasive - we do not use any tools during the treatment.
